Solar Products Over $1,000: Complete Kits, Home Batteries and Inverters

Above the $1,000 line, solar stops being an accessory and becomes a system. This collection gathers the bigger purchases: full off-grid kits with inverter, battery and panels in one box, 5kWh-and-up lithium batteries, 48V hybrid inverters and high-capacity portable stations. A 1000 watt solar power setup for a trailer sits below this page; what is here runs a cabin, a workshop or a house.

The collection is large, 393 products, and spans EG4, Sungold Power, Pytes, BigBattery and Anker. Single components start at from $1,130 for a 5.12kWh wall battery, complete kits run from about $3,100 to $5,500, and the biggest matched system, a 12kW inverter with 28.6kWh of storage, is $8,685.

Sungold Power SGR-8K10E off-grid solar kit with 8,000W inverter, 10.24kWh battery and eight 415W panels

How to choose at this price level

  • Kit or components. A kit removes the matching work. The Sungold Power SGM-5K5E bundles a 5,000W inverter, a 5.12kWh battery and six 200W panels for from $3,145; the SGR-8K10E steps up to 8,000W, 10.24kWh and eight 415W panels (a 3,320W array) with 120/240V output. Components make sense when you already own part of the system.
  • Battery capacity and cycle life. The Sungold SG48100M 5.12kWh Powerwall is rated for 7,000+ cycles with a 10-year warranty; the Pytes V5 5.12kWh Server Rack Battery lists 6,000+ cycles and the same 10 years. Pick wall or rack by where it will live.
  • Inverter output. A 6,000W unit such as the EG4 6000XP runs a small home; the EG4 PowerPro 12kW 28.6kWh system pairs a 12000XP V2 inverter with two 280Ah all-weather batteries for a full-size house without paralleling inverters.
  • 120V or 240V. The SGM-5K5E is 120V only. The SGR-8K10E and SGR-6510E deliver split-phase 240V for well pumps and dryers.
  • Portable alternative. The Anker SOLIX F3800 PLUS with 440W rigid panels gives 6,000W and 3,840Wh with no installation, expandable to 53.8kWh, for buyers who may move.

Sizing tips

  • Run the Solar Kit Calculator before spending at this level. It estimates battery, inverter and panel size from your appliance list and ZIP code, and it tells you whether a 5kWh or 10kWh kit is the right starting point.
  • Buy storage in 5.12kWh steps. Both the Sungold Powerwall and the Pytes V5 are that size, so a bank of two or four is easy to plan and expand.
  • Check array size against inverter input. The SGR-8K10E ships with 3,320W of panels on an 8,000W inverter, leaving room to add more later.
  • Match the battery to the inverter brand where closed-loop communication matters; the EG4 PowerPro is sold as a matched pair for that reason.
  • Plan the physical space. Wall batteries need a stud wall; rack batteries need a cabinet; the SG48100M weighs 114.6 lb.
  • For a vehicle or cart rather than a building, the BigBattery 72V RAPTOR 2 (7.68kWh, IP65) is a lead-acid replacement, not a home battery.

Frequently asked questions

Is a complete kit cheaper than buying parts? Usually, and it removes compatibility risk. The SGR-6510E at $5,510 includes the inverter, 10.24kWh of battery and eight panels; buying those three separately rarely comes out lower.

How much battery do I need for overnight? Most homes use 8 to 15kWh between sunset and sunrise. A single 5.12kWh unit covers a cabin; the 10.24kWh kits or the 28.6kWh PowerPro system cover a house.

Do these systems include installation? No. Wall-mounted inverters and batteries need an electrician and, for grid-tied use, a permit. Portable Anker bundles are the only plug-in option in this range.
