How the free solar proposal works

  1. Answer the questions below. The same inputs our calculator uses: your loads, backup time, location and grid voltage. About 3-5 minutes.
  2. We size your system. Daily kWh, peak and surge watts, battery capacity for the backup time you need, and solar array size for your sun hours.
  3. You get 1-3 complete kit options by email: in-stock kits from Sungold Power, EG4, Sol-Ark, Rich Solar, Anker SOLIX, Jackery, Bluetti and more, with prices and what each one can run.
  4. Order when you are ready. Free shipping to the mainland US on orders over $69, full manufacturer warranties, and financing with Shop Pay Installments.

Before you start: how to get the best proposal

1. Find your kWhLook at the last 12 months on your electric bill and give the average monthly kWh (or the highest winter/summer month if you want full coverage).
2. List big loadsWell pumps, AC, heat pumps, electric ranges, dryers, EV chargers and shop tools decide the inverter size and whether you need 120/240V.
3. Decide backup timeA few hours for outages, a full day, 2-3 days of cloudy weather, or fully off-grid. This sets the battery size.
4. Check panel spaceRoof or ground mount, rough area in square feet, and any shade from trees or buildings.

No bill? List your appliances with watts and hours per day in the appliance box (for example: fridge 150W 24h, lights 100W 6h, well pump 1,000W 1h). The label on each appliance shows its watts.

Thank you - your request is in. We will email your free solar proposal within 1-2 business days. Meanwhile you can compare kits in the solar kit calculator.

Frequently asked questions

Is the solar system design really free?

Yes. There is no cost and no obligation to buy. We send the proposal by email and you decide if and when to order.

How long does it take?

Usually 1-2 business days. Complex whole-home or commercial systems can take a little longer, and we may email you a question or two.

What if I don't know my kWh?

List your appliances with watts and hours per day, or tell us your monthly bill amount and your state. We can estimate usage from that.

Do you install the system?

We supply the equipment. You can install it yourself with an electrician for the final connection, or ask us for a referral to an installer partner in your area.

Can I finance the kit?

Yes - see financing with Shop Pay Installments, available at checkout for eligible orders.
