Jackery HomePower Series: Backup Stations Sized for Outages at Home

The Jackery HomePower series is built around the house rather than the campsite. These are LiFePO4 power stations meant to sit near the kitchen or the furnace and carry the refrigerator, router, lights, a sump pump or medical equipment through an outage, then recharge from the wall or a SolarSaga panel once the grid is back or the sun is out.

The collection holds 26 products: the HomePower 1000 v2, 1000 Plus v2, 2000 Plus v2, 3000, 3600 Plus and 3600 Pro Max, plus solar generator kits that add a 200W panel. Prices run from $579 for a bare 1,024Wh station to $1,889 for the 4,000W 3600 Pro Max.

How to choose a HomePower station

  • Output for the appliances that must stay on. A fridge, lights and a modem are under 500W, well within the 1,500W HomePower 1000 v2. Add a microwave or space heater and you want 1,800W from the HomePower 1000 Plus v2 or more. The HomePower 3600 Pro Max tops the range at 4,000W with an 8,000W surge for a well pump or window AC.
  • Hours of runtime. The 1,024Wh units cover a fridge for most of a day. The HomePower 2000 Plus v2 doubles that at 2,048Wh, and the 3000, 3600 Plus and 3600 Pro Max hold 3,072Wh to 3,584Wh, roughly two to three days of fridge and lights.
  • Expansion. The 2000 Plus v2 grows to 12kWh with add-on packs, the 3600 Plus to 21kWh and the 3600 Pro Max to 21.5kWh. The 1000-class units and the HomePower 3000 are fixed capacity, so buy them for the load you have now.
  • Cycle life. Every model except the HomePower 3000 (4,000 cycles) is rated for 6,000 cycles. If you plan to cycle the station daily on solar to trim your bill, that rating matters more than the sticker price.
  • Kit or bare. The solar generator versions pair the 1000 v2 or 1000 Plus v2 with a SolarSaga 200W panel, or with two SolarSaga 100 Air panels, for from $839. A bare station is the choice if you already own panels or only need wall charging.

Setup and usage tips

  • Put your outage essentials into the Solar Kit Calculator with your ZIP code. It estimates the watt-hours per day and the panel size to refill them, which tells you whether a 1,024Wh or 3,584Wh station is the right start.
  • Test the fridge before the storm. Plug it in, watch the display for the running watts and the start-up spike, and confirm the station's surge rating covers it.
  • Keep the station at a high state of charge during storm season and plugged in so it is full when the grid drops. Charge cycles are what LiFePO4 is built for.
  • For a sump pump, check the running and start-up watts on its label against the surge rating; small pumps usually call for the 1,800W 1000 Plus v2 or larger.

Frequently asked questions

HomePower 3600 Plus or 3600 Pro Max? Both hold 3,584Wh and are rated for 6,000 cycles. The Pro Max adds 400W of output (4,000W with 8,000W surge against 3,600W and 7,200W) and slightly more expansion at 21.5kWh, for $180 more.

Does the black or white finish change anything? No. The 1000 v2 and 1000 Plus v2 are the same station in either color; the white versions cost $30 to $40 more.

Can a HomePower station charge from solar while powering the house? Yes, the solar generator kits are designed for that: the SolarSaga 200W panel feeds the station while the outlets run, which keeps a fridge going through a multi-day outage in sunny weather.
