Bluetti Portable Power Stations, EP Series: Floor-Standing Units for Whole-Home Backup

The EP series is the largest class of Bluetti portable power stations: floor-standing cabinets on wheels that hold 5,120Wh to 9,920Wh of LiFePO4 storage and put out 2,000W to 9,000W. They are sold as bare stations and as complete kits with rigid or folding solar panels, and the 120/240V versions are the ones to look at if you want to run 240V loads or connect through a transfer switch rather than extension cords. This is the series for homeowners who want generator-class backup with no fuel.

The collection lists seven products from Bluetti, from $2,999 for the EP500 to $10,699 for a two-unit EP500 Pro kit with twelve 335W panels. All seven are sold out at the time of writing, so the guide below is meant to help you decide what to wait for or what comparable system to ask us about.

Bluetti EP500Pro 3,000W 5,120Wh portable solar power station

How to choose an EP series system

  • Output class. The EP500 delivers 2,000W, the EP500Pro 3,000W, and the EP900 + B500 9,000W. Two EP500 Pro units in the 120/240V complete kits combine for 6,000W. A house with a well pump, furnace and refrigerator usually needs the 3,000W tier or above; 2,000W covers essentials without motors.
  • Storage. The EP500 and EP500Pro each hold 5,120Wh; the two-unit kits reach 10,200Wh; the EP900 + B500 holds 9,920Wh. Plan on 8 to 12kWh per day for essentials-only backup, so the 5,120Wh units cover a night and the 10kWh systems cover a day.
  • Solar input. The EP500 Pro kits accept 2,400W max; the EP900 accepts 9,000W. The kit panel arrays run 800W (4 x 200W), 2,680W (8 x 335W) and 4,020W (12 x 335W). More panel means a faster refill during a multi-day outage.
  • 120V or 120/240V. Only the "Complete Kit" EP500 Pro listings are 120/240V. If you want to back up a dryer, well pump or central air through a transfer switch, that is the configuration you need.

Sizing tips

  • Run the Solar Kit Calculator with your circuits and ZIP code first. It estimates battery, inverter and panel size, and will tell you quickly whether 5,120Wh or 10,200Wh is your starting point.
  • Match panel wattage to outage length. A 5,120Wh unit with 800W of rigid panels refills in a good day; without panels it is a one-night device.
  • Choose rigid panels for a fixed roof and folding panels for ground setup. The 4 x 200W kits come both ways at $4,699 rigid and $4,949 portable.
  • Do not exceed the 2,400W input ceiling on the EP500 Pro kits. The 12-panel 4,020W array is sized for two units, not one.
  • Leave floor space and a path. These are wheeled cabinets, not shelf items; plan where the unit sits relative to the transfer switch or the appliances it feeds.

Frequently asked questions

Can an EP series unit back up my whole house? The 120/240V EP500 Pro kits are the configurations built for 240V loads; whether they connect to your panel depends on your transfer switch and local code, so ask your electrician. Continuous central air on a large home would still exhaust 10kWh in well under a day, so size the solar array accordingly.

What is the difference between the EP500 and EP500Pro? Both hold 5,120Wh. The Pro raises output from 2,000W to 3,000W, which is the difference between running essentials and also starting a well pump or a small air conditioner.

Everything is sold out; what should I do? Call or email and tell us which model you were considering. We will note your interest and point you to a portable power station bluetti alternative or a wall-mount system with similar output that ships now.

In-stock systems ship free to the mainland US from brand partner warehouses, usually within a few business days, with 30-day returns. If you are unsure which EP series tier your home needs, call us and we will size it with you.
