Portable solar power for RV use comes in two forms, and this collection has both. The first is a power station with panels: carry it aboard, plug the shore cord in, and the rig runs as if it were at a campground pedestal. The second is a built-in hub such as the Bluetti RV5, which replaces the inverter, converter, solar controller and alternator charger with one box wired to your own batteries and roof panels.
There are 187 products here from Anker and Bluetti, priced from $899 for a Bluetti Elite 200 V2 to $4,999 for an Anker SOLIX F3800 7,680Wh kit with rigid roof panels. The RV5 Power Hub sits in the middle at $1,499.
| Product | Key numbers | Best for | Price from |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bluetti Elite 200 V2 | 2,600W, 2,073.6Wh, 53.4 lb | Small trailers, weekend trips | $899 |
| Bluetti RV5 Power Hub | 5,000W AC, 10,000W surge, IP65 | Permanent install with your own batteries | $1,499 |
| Anker SOLIX F3000 + 400W panel | 3,600W, 3,072Wh, 400W solar | No-wiring boondocking | $1,900 |
| Anker SOLIX F3800 PLUS + 440W rigid | 6,000W, 3,840Wh, 880W array | Roof-mounted panels, AC use | $3,599 |
Is a station or the RV5 hub the better portable solar power system for RV boondocking? A station if you switch rigs, rent, or want the same unit for home backup. The RV5 if the rig is yours long term and you want solar, alternator and shore charging managed in one place.
Can I run the rooftop AC on solar alone? You can run it from the battery, and panels slow the drain. Keeping up with AC all day needs more panel than most roofs hold, so plan on AC in the evening and solar recovery during the day.
Do portable solar kits for RVs need an electrician? Stations, no. The RV5 is designed for DIY installation with pre-labeled wiring, but if your rig has a complex existing system, a mobile RV tech is a sound investment.
