EcoFlow Delta Max: Station, Solar Kits and Extra Battery Compared

The EcoFlow Delta Max is a 2,400W station with 2,016Wh on board, sold on its own or packaged with rigid or portable panels, and its successor the DELTA 2 Max adds 2,048Wh and a higher solar ceiling. What makes this line useful is that the charge controller, battery and inverter are one unit, so a first-time solar buyer plugs in panels and is running the same afternoon. This page lays out the seven configurations so you can see what each adds and what it costs.

All seven products are EcoFlow, from the bare DELTA 2 Max at $949 to the DELTA Max with 800W of rigid panels at $4,599, with a 2,048Wh Smart Extra Battery at $1,399 for anyone who needs more than one night of storage. Every item is sold out at the moment; use the comparison to decide what to wait for or what to substitute.

How to choose an ecoflow delta max kit

  • Station alone or bundle. The DELTA 2 Max on its own suits buyers who already have panels within its 1,000W input limit. The DELTA Max bundles are for people starting from zero; the 200 to 800W rigid bundle lets you pick the array size at checkout.
  • Portable or rigid panels. The 200W portable bundle ($1,679) and the DELTA 2 Max + 220W portable kit ($1,249) fold for camping. The 2 x 200W rigid kit ($1,949) and the 800W rigid bundle ($4,599) are for roofs and ground mounts that stay in place.
  • Extra storage. The DELTA Max 2048Wh Smart Extra Battery runs on the same 48V system, is rated for 3,000 cycles and carries a 5-year warranty. Up to two of them take a DELTA 2 Max from 2,048Wh to 6,144Wh.
  • Solar input ceiling. DELTA Max kits list 800W max input; the DELTA 2 Max takes 1,000W. Pick the array with that ceiling in mind, since panels above it add nothing.
  • Cycle life. The DELTA 2 Max and the extra battery both use LFP cells rated for 3,000 cycles, which matters if you plan to cycle the system daily rather than a few times a year.

Setup and usage tips

  • Use the Solar Kit Calculator with your appliance list and ZIP code before picking a bundle. It tells you whether 2,016Wh covers your night and how many panel watts your area needs to refill it.
  • Buy the extra battery and the panels together. A 200W panel on 6,144Wh of storage takes days to refill; if you add a battery, add array.
  • Rigid panels need a mount and a cable run to where the station sits. Keep the station indoors or shaded and run the cable to the panels, not the other way round.
  • Charge from AC before a trip or a forecast storm, then let solar hold the level during the day.
  • Run big loads one at a time. 2,400W handles a microwave or a heater, not both together.

Frequently asked questions

Is the delta max ecoflow station enough for home backup? For essentials, yes: a refrigerator, lights, router and phones fit inside 2,400W and last a night on 2,016Wh. Add the Smart Extra Battery for a second night, and a rigid array to stretch beyond that.

What does the Smart Extra Battery add? 2,048Wh per unit, up to two units, for a total of 6,144Wh. It shares the 48V system and the 3,000-cycle LFP rating of the DELTA 2 Max and is covered by a 5-year warranty.

Which bundle is best for an RV? The 200W portable bundle for occasional trips, or the 2 x 200W rigid kit if the panels can go on the roof and you want charging while parked without setting anything up.

When these return, everything ships free to the mainland US from our brand partner warehouses, usually within a few business days, with 30-day returns. Call us if you want an in-stock 2,400W station with a similar expansion path.
