Every EG4 lithium battery in this collection is a 48V LiFePO4 pack meant to sit on a wall or floor and feed a hybrid inverter for years. LiFePO4 chemistry is why: it tolerates thousands of full cycles, does not need to be kept at partial charge, and stays stable under the 200A continuous discharge these units are rated for. The choice here is between the 280Ah module at 14.3kWh and the newer 314Ah platform at 16kWh, and between indoor and all-weather enclosures.

How to choose an EG4 LiFePO4 battery

• Capacity per module. The 280Ah stores 14.3kWh. The 314Ah stores 16kWh nominal with 12.86kWh recommended usable. If you are adding to an existing 280Ah rack, the EG4 48V WallMount 16kWh 314Ah All-Weather Lithium Battery drops into the same form factor.
• Where it lives. The 280Ah All-Weather is IP65 and the 314Ah All-Weather is IP67, both rated for direct outdoor installation with automatic self-heating. The EG4 48V WallMount 16kWh Indoor Self-Heating Battery is for a garage or utility room and carries UL 1973 and UN 38.3 certification.
• Cycle life. The 280Ah is built for more than 8,000 cycles; the 314Ah All-Weather is rated for 10,000. Both carry a 10-year manufacturer warranty.
• Battery alone or system. If there is no inverter yet, the EG4 PowerPro 12kW 28.7kWh 48V Battery Backup pairs two 280Ah units with one 12kW inverter as a closed-loop set.

• Count usable, not nominal. The 314Ah lists 12.86kWh recommended usable against 16kWh nominal; plan with the smaller number.

What is the difference between an EG4 LifePower4 lithium battery and these? LifePower4 units are not part of this collection. What you find here are the wall-mount 280Ah and 314Ah platforms, which offer 14.3kWh to 16kWh per unit and outdoor-rated options.

Can I mix a 100Ah LiFePO4 lithium battery with these? Not in the same bank. These are 48V, 280Ah and 314Ah modules with closed-loop communication to the inverter; a 100Ah pack is a different size class and should be kept on its own system.

How do the 314Ah units handle setup? The Indoor model uses Auto-ID to recognize and sync new units automatically during install. The All-Weather model adds an emergency stop and an LCD touchscreen for on-unit status.
