300 Watt Portable Power Station: Which Small Station Fits Your Trip

A 300 watt portable power station is the small, carry-in-one-hand class: 230Wh to 300Wh of battery and 300W of continuous AC output, enough for phones, tablets, a laptop, a camera charger, LED lights, a small fan or a CPAP through the night. What it does well is keep a tent, a car camp, a home office or a nightstand running quietly for a weekend, and it recharges from a wall outlet, a car port or a small folding panel.

The collection holds seven models from Jackery, EcoFlow, Anker and Bluetti, priced from $195 to $359. Every one uses a LiFePO4 battery rated for 3,000 to 4,000 charge cycles, so the difference between them comes down to capacity, solar input and whether a panel is bundled.

How to choose a 300 watt power station

  • Watt-hours you need per day. A phone takes about 15Wh, a laptop 50Wh to 80Wh per charge, a CPAP without humidifier around 30Wh to 60Wh a night. Add them up and compare with the 288Wh in the Jackery Explorer 300D or the 245Wh in the EcoFlow RIVER 3 (currently sold out). If your list passes 250Wh a day, plan to recharge daily or move up to a 500 watt portable power station.
  • Rated and surge output. All of these deliver 300W continuous. Several, including the Explorer 300 v2 and the Bluetti AC2P, list a 600W surge, which covers the start-up pulse of a small compressor cooler or a blender.
  • Solar input. This is where models differ most. The Bluetti AC2P accepts up to 200W of solar, the Anker SOLIX C300X up to 600W, and the RIVER 3 up to 110W. A higher limit means a faster refill from a folding panel. The Jackery Solar Generator 300 v2 bundles a 40W SolarSaga 40 Air panel, sized for topping up rather than a full-day recharge.
  • Weight. The Bluetti AC2P weighs 7.9 lbs. Anything in this class is light enough for a backpack or a kayak hatch, which is the whole point over a 2000 watt portable power station.

Setup and usage tips

  • Before you buy, run the Solar Kit Calculator with your device list and ZIP code. If it recommends more than 300Wh of storage, this class will feel small by the second night.
  • Check the wattage label on any appliance you plan to plug in. A 300W station will shut down a 900W coffee maker instantly; it is not a fault, just the limit.
  • Pair a 300 watt portable solar panel with the C300X or AC2P only if the station's input limit allows it; on a station with a 110W input, a large panel is wasted money.
  • Charge to full before a trip and top up from the car port on the drive. Solar in this class is for maintaining, not for recovering from empty.

Frequently asked questions

Will a 300W station run a CPAP all night? Most CPAPs without a heated humidifier draw 30W to 60W, so a 288Wh Jackery Explorer 300D covers a full night with reserve.

How long does it take to recharge? From a wall outlet, stations this size typically refill in a few hours. From the bundled 40W SolarSaga panel, expect a slow top-up over a sunny day rather than a full charge.

Is a 300W or a 1500 watt portable power station the better first buy? If your list is phones, lights and a laptop, the 300W class costs a third as much and weighs a fraction. If a fridge, power tools or a microwave are on the list, skip straight to the larger unit.

Every station here ships free to the mainland US from our brand partner warehouses, usually within a few business days, with 30-day returns. Call us if you are unsure whether 288Wh will cover your trip.
