Solar Panels: Rigid, Portable and High-Voltage Modules From 50W to 560W

Solar panels are the one part of a system you cannot upgrade with a firmware update, so it pays to pick the right cell type, voltage and format the first time. This collection covers rigid monocrystalline modules for rooftops and ground mounts, narrow and lightweight panels for vans and boats, and folding portable panels that pair with a power station. The guide below explains which of those formats fits which job and how to match a panel to the controller or station it will charge.

There are 50 panels and panel kits here from Rich Solar, Sungold Power, Anker SOLIX and BLUETTI. Prices run from $69 for a 50W rigid panel to $980 for a 560W bifacial kit, with most 100W to 200W panels between $110 and $350.

How to choose a solar panel

  • Cell technology. Three generations appear in this collection. PERC cells in the Sungold 370W and 415W kits (20.3% module efficiency on the 370W). N-Type TOPCon cells in the Rich Solar MEGA 100 SLIM and MEGA 200 PRO, rated up to 25.1% and 24.8%. Bifacial N-Type in the Sungold Power 560W Bifacial Kit, which adds up to 30% from light hitting the rear face on a ground mount.
  • Nominal voltage. A 12V panel like the Rich Solar MEGA 50W (8.0 lb, 23.2% cells) suits a small 12V bank with a PWM or MPPT controller. The Rich Solar MEGA 200W 24V outputs 36.3V nominal, and the 48V kits from Sungold are built to string into hybrid inverters. Match the panel's voltage to the controller input range before anything else.
  • Format. Rigid for anything permanent. The MEGA 100 SLIM's 15.7 inch width fits between roof fixtures on an RV. Portable folding panels such as the BLUETTI 350W Portable set up in a minute and store flat.
  • Warranty. The pack lists 25-year output or performance warranties across the Rich Solar MEGA range and most Sungold kits, and 30 years on the 440W N-Type and 560W bifacial.

Sizing tips

  • A quick rule: a 100W panel yields roughly 400Wh on a sunny day, and a 400W panel roughly 1,600Wh. The Solar Kit Calculator refines that with your ZIP code and appliance list and returns panel, battery and inverter sizes together.
  • Series raises voltage, parallel raises current. Two Sungold 200W panels at 37V Vmp in series give about 74V, which is fine for a 48V MPPT controller but too high for a 12V PWM unit.
  • Derate for heat and angle. Flat-mounted panels in July produce less than their rating; tilting toward the sun and leaving an air gap under rigid panels helps.
  • Keep portable panels for portable use. A folding panel left out through a winter will not last like an IP68-rated rigid module bolted to a rack.
  • Check the junction box rating for marine or exposed installs: IP68 on the Sungold 415W, 370W and 440W, IP67 on the Rich Solar MEGA 100.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a charge controller? With a bare panel and a battery, yes. A power station has the controller built in, and a hybrid inverter includes MPPT inputs for the array.

What is the difference between a solar panel kit and a single panel? Kits such as the Sungold 100W 24V bundle two or more matched panels with connectors so the string is ready to wire. Single panels are for adding to an existing array or a small standalone setup.

Which panels are best for a van roof? The MEGA 100 SLIM for narrow gaps, the MEGA 100 rigid at 13.2 lb for general use, or the MEGA 200 PRO where you want fewer panels and connections.

All panels ship free to the mainland US from our brand partner warehouses, usually within a few business days, with 30-day returns. If you are matching a panel to a controller or station you already own, call and we will check the numbers with you.
