10,000+ Wh Batteries: Whole-Home and Off-Grid Storage From 10kWh Up
A battery bank of 10kWh or more is what it takes to run a house through the night on solar, or to keep a well pump, furnace blower, fridge and freezer going through a multi-day outage. Below that size you are choosing which circuits to save; at 10kWh and above you can stop choosing. The batteries in this collection are 48V-class LiFePO4 units built for hybrid inverters, in wall-mount, server-rack and floor-standing formats, plus a few complete inverter-and-battery systems.
The collection lists 45 products from EG4, Sungold Power, Pytes, Sol-Ark and HomeGrid. Entry points start at $2,390 for the 10.24kWh Sungold Power Powerwall X, single 14 to 16kWh EG4 wall units sit between $3,124 and $3,750, and the range tops out with 33 to 86kWh banks and three-phase systems above $15,000.
How to choose a 10kWh-plus battery
-
Usable kWh per night. A typical US home draws 10 to 20kWh a day, and roughly half of that after sunset. One EG4 48V WallMount 16kWh Indoor (12.86kWh recommended usable) covers a night for an efficient home; the EG4 PowerPro 12kW 43kWh system covers two days.
-
Discharge current. The battery must feed the inverter at full load. The EG4 314Ah and 280Ah units are rated for 200A continuous, enough for a 10 to 12kW inverter from a single battery; smaller server-rack units usually need two or more in parallel to reach the same output.
-
Indoor or outdoor. The EG4 16kWh Indoor is built for a garage or utility room, and the Sungold Powerwall X is a wall-mounted home battery. The EG4 16kWh All-Weather (IP67) and 14.3kWh PowerPro (IP65) mount outside, and the Pytes V5 20.48kWh Outdoor Cabinet puts four rack batteries in an IP55 enclosure.
-
Single unit or stack. HomeGrid Stack'd banks build 33.6kWh or 38.4kWh from modules; the 4 x Sungold SG48100P bundle gives 20.48kWh in a rack from $4,320. Wall units are simpler to add one at a time.
-
Inverter match. The Sol-Ark High Voltage 40kWh bank works only with the Sol-Ark 30K. Closed-loop systems such as the EG4 PowerPro pair a specific inverter with its batteries; confirm compatibility before buying storage on its own.

Sizing tips
- Run the Solar Kit Calculator with every circuit you want covered. It returns battery, inverter and panel sizes for your ZIP code, and it will show whether 10kWh or 30kWh is the honest number.
- Count the big motors. A well pump or central air compressor decides your inverter size and therefore your battery discharge rating, not the total kWh.
- Buy the bank as one order. Mixing batteries bought years apart in one string shortens the life of the whole bank; if you expect to grow, pick a platform with Auto-ID or modular stacking.
- Check the floor and wall. A 16kWh wall unit is heavy; the Pytes outdoor cabinet and HomeGrid stacks need a level pad.
- Give every battery its certification match. UL 9540A-listed units like the EG4 314Ah make permitting easier in most counties.
Frequently asked questions
How much battery do I need to run a whole house overnight? Add up the loads that run after dark. For most homes 12 to 16kWh usable handles fridge, freezer, furnace, lights and electronics until sunrise; add a second unit for air conditioning.
Can I add a second battery later? With most units here, yes. EG4 wall batteries parallel with Auto-ID, and the Pytes and Sungold rack batteries are designed to be stacked. Buy matching models and ask us about the maximum count for your inverter.
Do these batteries include an inverter? Only the EG4 PowerPro systems do. Standalone wall and rack batteries need a compatible 48V hybrid inverter; we can pair one for you.
Shipping to the mainland US is free from our brand partner warehouses, typically within a few business days, with 30-day returns. Call us with your inverter model and daily usage and we will size the bank with you.
