EcoFlow Power Kits: What Comes in the Box and How to Size One

EcoFlow power kits are bundles: a DELTA-series power station, a set of 200W or 220W solar panels, and the cables to connect them. You unbox, plug the panels into the station and you are generating. Buying a kit instead of pieces means panel voltage, connectors and charge controller are already matched, which removes the most common first-time mistake.

How to choose an EcoFlow power kit

• Storage first. Work out watt-hours per day, then buy at least one day of it. A weekend camper with a 12V fridge lands near 1,000Wh, which the 2,048Wh DELTA 2 Max kit covers twice over. A home riding out an overnight outage wants the 4,096Wh DELTA Pro 3. A cabin that never sees the grid wants a DELTA Pro Ultra kit at 12,000Wh or more.
• Panels to match. Included panel wattage is the refill speed. The DELTA 2 Max ships with 220W and accepts up to 1,000W; the Pro Ultra 6,000Wh and 12,000Wh portable kits include 400W; the 18,000Wh, 24,000Wh and 30,000Wh portable kits include 1,600W. If your daily use is close to the battery size, choose the larger array.
• Portable or rigid. The DELTA Pro 3 + 12V Portable Solar Panels kit folds flat for the van. The DELTA Pro 3 + 12V Rigid Solar Panels kit (from $3,779) mounts on a roof and stays there.
• Output voltage. Only the DELTA Pro Ultra kits provide 240V. If the load list includes a dryer, a well pump or an electric range, start there.

Sizing tips

• Run the Solar Kit Calculator with your appliances and ZIP code. It estimates battery, inverter and panel size from local sun hours, which tells you whether a 400W or 1,600W kit fits your climate.
• Do not size the array for July. A 400W array in December produces a fraction of its summer output; buy for your worst month.
• Rigid kits need mounting hardware and a plan for cable runs. Measure the roof before ordering.
• Portable panels should be repositioned two or three times a day for full output. If nobody is home to do that, rigid is the better choice.
• Leave room to grow. The Pro 3 expands to 48kWh and the Pro Ultra to 90kWh, so a smaller kit now is not a dead end.
